The Three Classes of Rocks
Igneous rocks are formed from magma that has cooled. Sedimentary rocks are formed by the deposition of minerals on the ocean floor. Metamorphic rocks are igneous or sedimentary rocks that have been subjected to heat, pressure, or movement.
