Laura Kirk actress-producer
Laura Kirk was born in
Lecompton, Kansas, in 1966. She received her
theater and film degree from the University of
Kansas in 1990. She studied acting in New York
with Wynn Handman and Suzanne Esper, and improv
with Alan Larkin. She has also taught drama for
the Dreamyard Drama Project, and was a mentor at
Wadleigh High School in Harlem.
As an actress, Kirk is best
known for playing the lead role in Lisa
Picard Is Famous, which she co-wrote with
Nat DeWolf. Her most notable work as an associate
producer was The Battle for Bunker Hill,
which was written and directed by fellow Kansas
University alumnus Kevin Wilmott, and in which
she was the lead actress.
