1958 Skiing News and Highlights

During 1958 seven men and one woman were named by the National Ski Association to the Ski Hall of Fame at Ishpeming, Michigan -- Hannes Schneider, Roger F. Langley, Gordon L. Wren, Marthinius A. Strand, Andrea Mead Lawrence, Harold A. Grinden, Charles Minot Dole, and Richard Durrance.

At the World Championship Ski Meet at Bad Gastein, Austria, Toni Sailer of Austria won the men's giant slalom on February 5 and the downhill run and Alpine combined title on February 9. Lucille Wheeler of Canada won the women's giant slalom on February 8.
