Berkeley Protest

The University of California at Berkeley was the scene of much unrest during 1964, much of it concerning whether the university had a right to discipline students for political activity off campus that might result in illegal activity. Cancellation of the right to solicit for political causes on campus resulted in the arrest of some 800 sit-in participants on December 3.

Berkeley students face a police line as they protest a university ruling concerning speechmaking.
