On March 20, 1963, American socialite Hope Cooke, 22, married Sikkim's Crown Prince Phandup Namgyal, 39. The ceremony took place in a Buddhist ceremony chapel at Gangtok, Sikkim, India. The Crown Prince (also known as the Maharaj Kumar) is a widower with three children.
