Anne Frank Village

On May 31, a village for displaced persons was established on the outskirts of Wuppertal, Germany. It was named for Anne Frank, the 15-year-old Jewish girl who kept a diary while in hiding from the Nazis that was later translated into stage and screen plays.

Otto Frank, father of Anne Frank, and Father Dominique Pire, Nobel Peace Prize winner, lay the cornerstone of the new village of Anne Frank.
