President Nixon Visits China

On February 21, 1972, President Nixon became the first President to set foot in Communist China. Over the following 8 days he and his wife took in some of the sites around Peking, and the President discussed relations between the United States and China with Chinese Communist Party Chairman Mao Tse-tung and Premier Chou En-lai.
