 Ángel Victor Paz Estenssoro was part of the formation of the Nationalist Revolutionary Movement that took control of the Bolivian government in 1952. He subsequently served as President of Bolivia three times (nonconsecutively). |
Anti-U.S. Riots, 1959 In early 1959 Time magazine published an article in which a U.S. embassy official was quoted as saying that Bolivia should be divided among neighboring countries. That article provoked anti-U.S. riots in La Paz in early March. |
